Born on October 4, 1984 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Amanda Musumeci picked up poker while attending Kutztown University, where she studied Speech and Mass Communications. During school, she developed her game and was eventually able to grind small-stakes sit-and-gos and multi-table tournaments to pay the bills.
Upon graduating, Amanda was invited by a friend to the Aussie Millions, where she met young female pro Anna Wroblewski. Anna took Amanda under her wing and at the end of the week, offered her a room and a stake back in Las Vegas, where she lived in a condo owned by her friend Barry Greenstein. Obviously, Musumeci couldn’t turn the opportunity to learn and associate with such incredible poker talents, so she accepted the offer and hasn’t looked back since.
Known as manderbutt on PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and UB.com, and BodogMander on Bodog, she’s accumulated a number of hefty scores, including third in Full Tilt Poker’s $150K for $26K and fifth in the Sunday Mulligan for $15K.
Recently, she was introduced as the newest member of Team Bodog Pro. In an interview following the official announcement, she had this to say about what she brings to her new post:
“A vast amount of online poker experience, a huge network of online friends who also play poker, intelligence, youth, determination – and it probably doesn’t hurt that I’m cute. I say that modestly, of course. This decade is definitely going to be HUGE for women in poker, and it’s great to see that Bodog is growing along with the new trends and demographics in the game.”
Away from the tables, Amanda enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, as well cooking, dancing, and shooting pool. Currently, she resides in Las Vegas and plays mostly online, but is planning to work in as many live events as possible.
