Over the past few years, nobody has been more involved in the poker radio scene than Scott Huff. He initially got started as a tournament reporter for CardPlayer, a job that had him on the road following the tournament circuit with BJ Nemeth. Eventually, CardPlayer turned to Huff for their radio show idea, The Circuit, which he co-hosted with Mike Matusow for 40 episodes. The show had a strong following, but fizzled out when Matusow left and Huff was drawn back to L.A. by his personal life.

Back in Hollywood, Huff caught on with a writer and director team and served as a personal assistant in their offices. While trying to learn the business and break into the movie industry, however, he always kept one eye on the poker world. Before long, he was spending all his spare time on another poker radio show, this time for Joe Sebok and Barry Greenstein’s site PokerRoad.com. The initial project that brought him back was Big Poker Sundays, which he discusses in the below excerpt from an interview with PokerNews.com:

“Big Poker Sundays was just an idea I had. Basically, Joe Sebok came to a bunch of us who had worked with him in the past. He said, ‘What do you have for new content ideas, and let’s just make this thing happen.’ My idea was just to do an AM sports-talk style show about poker. First, Sebok had talked about hosting it with me. We had talked about other names in the poker industry, possibly co-hosting with me. Then, I actually talked to my old intern from The Circuit days, Justin Shronk, and he mentioned, just in passing, Haralabos Voulgaris being a hilarious guy and what a funny episode that had been. And it just clicked that Haralabos would probably be a great fit, because I knew we had gotten along in the past. He’s probably – if not the wittiest and sharpest guy I’ve met, he’s darn close. So I figured he’d be a great guy, especially – the goal eventually is to take the show live, and to take live callers. As far as that interaction’s concerned, I couldn’t think of anybody better than Bob to do that.”

Currently, Scott Huff devotes his full attention to the poker world, where he hosts The Poker Beat, Two Jacks in the Hole, and Poker2Nite. He is also an occasional guest on PokerRoad Radio.
