The 2019 World Series of Poker is still about three and a half months away, but Caesars is giving us the opportunity to set our DVRs early, as the broadcast schedule for the 50th anniversary WSOP has been released.
Like last year, ESPN and Poker Central will be teaming up on the coverage. ESPN will air at least 40 hours of live poker and another 90 hours of “originally produced episodes.” Think of the latter like ESPN’s episodes of old, the edited, non-live shows that feature player background pieces, interviews, and the like.
Poker Central, as usual, will stream its coverage via the subscription PokerGO app and website. It will broadcast many of the bracelet events in the leadup to the Main Event. Right now, just the live broadcast schedule for ESPN has been announced, with PokerGO’s schedule to come.
As can be seen on the schedule that follows at the end of this article, ESPN2 will have the opening three flights of the 2019 WSOP Main Event beginning during the evening (Eastern Time), starting at 8:00pm to 9:00pm, depending on the day. This would imply that Poker Central will have the afternoon portion of the coverage. The same general timing seems to hold true for much of the rest of the Main Event.
The final table will be all ESPN, as it has been for years.
