2022 WSOP Online Main Event Final Table Set at GGPoker

Millions still there for the taking

The 2022 WSOP Online on GGPoker is down to the end, with just the $5,000 Main Event as the last bracelet event still to be completed. The tournament will play out its final table on Tuesday, as just nine players remain, all vying for the $2.8 million first prize.

PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) may have had problems over the weekend because of an unfortunate DDoS attack, but GGPoker experienced nothing of the sort, allowing the final Main Event starting flights to go off without a hitch. When registration closed – after a “Last Chance” flight was added to Monday’s schedule – the field was at 4,984 players. This allowed the tournament to easily break the $20 million guaranteed, with a total prize pool of $23,674,000.

The top 500 finishers made the money; the minimum payout was $13,367.82. The top four finishers will all make over a million dollars, while six-figure payouts started at 18th place.

Interestingly (or not, if you are used to this sort of thing), GGPoker is not allowing deals to be made at the final table, whether they be communicated in the software client or outside of the game.

Leading the nine remaining players at the final table is Norway’s Simon Mattsson with 86.1 million chips, or 107.7 big blinds. He is followed by Finland’s Samuel Vousden with 69.3 million chips (86.7 big blinds) and Thailand’s Kannapong Thanarattrakul with 51.6 million (64.5 big blinds).

There is sizeable dropoff after the top three, as nobody else is above the 30 big blind mark.

US WSOP Online

As the WSOP Online on GGPoker wraps up today, remember that there is also a version (or versions) of the WSOP Online in the United States currently underway. The US-based Series on WSOP.com began September 10 and runs through October 18. There are 33 official gold bracelets available for players who compete on the combined New Jersey and Nevada sites, while Michigan and Pennsylvania each have six bracelet events.

The New Jersey/Nevada WSOP Online has one event on Tuesday, the $500 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max tournament. Looking ahead, there is another event on Thursday, one on Saturday, and two on Sunday.

Both Michigan and Pennsylvania also have their respective $777 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Lucky 7’s events on Sunday.

The WSOP Online Main Event final table at GGPoker kicks off at 2:00pm ET. It will be live streamed at GGPoker.tv (which redirects to GGPoker’s YouTube channel) on a 20-minute delay.
