Steve Soffa has won internationally recognized design awards for his amazing jewelry collection. He’s worked with some of the biggest companies in the world and as it turns out, he’s a poker buff. He recently opened a store in the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, showcasing some of the most unique designs for hard core watches around. He designed a set of watches, one of which was worn by WSOP Champion Joe Cada, which has drawn acclaim worldwide.
Thanks to his love for poker and reputation as one of the hottest designers in the world, he was commissioned by the World Series of Poker to design and manufacture the entire set of 2010 WSOP Championship Bracelets. Our own Sean Gibson was on hand at one his offices in the Los Angeles Jewelry District, and received a tour of the process of how Mr. Soffa is creating the bracelets. In this interview with Mr. Soffa, we discuss how his love of poker and his genius for design have merged together, talk about his personal love for the game and finally reveal how his watch ended up on Joe Cada’s wrist for his fateful run to the championship.
