One of the players who can truly be called a “grinder,” Ronnie Bardah has been able to realize his poker playing dreams by driving deep in the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. He took 24th in the high-stakes Las Vegas poker tournament, pocketing $317,000.
The 26 year old Stoneham, Massachusetts professional traditionally has played Limit Hold’em to make a living. He routinely plays $30/$60 Limit on his home ground at the Foxwoods Hotel and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, earning a solid living from the games there. When he has made the foray to the tournament arena, Bardah has rock-solid credentials that make him a formidable player in either Limit or No Limit Hold’em.
His first cash in a tournament came in 2004 in a small buy-in ($500) No Limit event at Foxwoods, with multiple cashes in every year since that point. Bardah’s best cash in a tournament was at the Empire State Poker Championships in 2007, when he pulled a $21,300 payday for winning a $500 No Limit event. He has played across the Northeast, taking down multiple cashes in tournament schedules in Atlantic City and Foxwoods, and has stretched his playing area to tournaments in Las Vegas, Biloxi, and New Orleans.
Simply making it to Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event – and the potential of reaching the final 27 players and its $317,161 payout – Bardah will earn his largest payday of his career and could become a force in Northeast poker, if not the American game as well.
Bardah apparently signed with Full Tilt Poker for the 2010 WSOP and will be a highly competitive player in the final 27. The player known as “Ro Nasty” is another one of the “x-factors” that will be seen in play as the World Series of Poker drives down to the November Nine.
