No tricks here! On Sunday, celebrating Halloween, UB.com is holding two special qualifiers into its weekly $200,000 Guaranteed. At least 40 seats will be up for grabs, and the two satellites have a combined price tag of just $4.40. Plus, the site welcomes players from the United States with outstretched arms.
UB.com, which makes its home on the CEREUS Network alongside Absolute Poker, is holding a special Halloween freeroll on Sunday at Noon ET. While kids in costumes parade from door to door, clamoring for free candy, players on UB.com will be shuttling from table to table in pursuit of one of 20 UB.com $200,000 Guaranteed seats. As we said, this tournament is a freeroll, which means it won’t cost you a single penny to play. So, shut off your porch light and hunker down for an afternoon and evening of poker.
If the freeroll doesn’t pan out for you, UB.com will hold a $4.40 buy-in satellite to the $200,000 Guaranteed at 1:30 pm ET. This special qualifier will award at least another 20 seats depending on the prize pool. Everyone who qualifies via the Halloween seat giveaways will earn entry into Sunday’s $200,000 Guaranteed, which kicks off at 4:00 pm ET. The tournament periodically sports an overlay and comprises players from UB.com and Absolute Poker.
A press release distributed by UB.com about the site’s Halloween festivities asserted, “Skip the ghoulish makeup and costume parties, and swap the trick or treating for some ‘sugar’ of another variety.
Keeping the witches and ghosts at bay for just a few more hours this Halloween will be worthwhile. Join the fun at UB’s card room for one of 40 $200K GTD tournament seats to be won.”
Last weekend’s running of the UB.com $200,000 Guaranteed saw “ACTIONDJ” come out on top of a 944-player field to bank a top prize of $45,000. The $215 buy-in poker tournament featured an overlay of nearly $12,000 and the top 90 players finished in the money. Also appearing at the final table were “PAPAGEORGIOOO” (second place for $26,900), “JUNKIE1212” (third place for $18,300), “SUCHADORK” (fourth place for $12,900), “IPLAY2BUBBLE” (fifth place for $10,900), “SALTTHEEARTH” (sixth place for $8,900), “MR_BRAVEHRT” (seventh place for $6,900), “OG_HOWIE” (eighth place for $4,900), and “B1KER” (ninth place for $3,400).
The Halloween qualifiers are open to any player with a CEREUS Network account. According to PokerScout.com, which tracks online poker room traffic, the CEREUS Network is the ninth largest worldwide in terms of real-money ring game traffic. It sports a seven-day running average of 1,900 real-money ring game players with a 24-hour peak of 3,171. Its traffic is slightly ahead of that found on PokerStars.fr and the Microgaming Network, neither of which accepts USA players.
UB.com is in the final days of holding its Perfect Play promotion, which features micro-stakes games and over $100,000 in prizes on the line. Tournaments, sit and gos, and cash games are all featured in the Perfect Play, which wraps up on Sunday.
Team UB.com recently saw the departures of Matt “mattg1983” Graham, Michael Binger, and Billy “Patrolman35” Kopp. However, its roster still features the likes of Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, Joe Sebok, and Tiffany Michelle. Group members can typically be found in the $200,000 Guaranteed field.
