If you have been playing at PartyPoker for a while, you likely have gotten used to the online poker room introducing a new promotion at the beginning of every month. But lo and behold, Party is launching a new one today, a full week before the start of May. The VIP 500 Club, which gives players a chance to earn extra rewards while they play their favorite games, will run through May 13th.
Looking at the promotion dates, it makes sense that this promotion would not run strictly during the course of a calendar month. The first open event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is May 28th, so PartyPoker may very well be leaving a couple weeks open between the end of the VIP 500 Club and the start of the WSOP to allow players to concentrate on WSOP satellites.
But on to the promotion itself. The VIP 500 Club is open exclusively to Palladium VIP and Palladium VIP Elite members (hence the “VIP” part of the name). The mechanics are simple. For every 500 PartyPoints a Palladium member earns in real money games, that player will earn a VIP 500 Club instant prize card. That card will reveal a prize that can range from cash to points to an iPad. Here is the breakdown of the available prizes:
Cash: $5, $10, $25, $100, $250, $500
Bonus (must be cleared via real money play): $25, $50, $100
PartyPoints: 100 points, 250 points, 500 points
Electronics: iPad 2, iPod
The poker bonuses will all have a 60-day clearance window and will be released in four equal installments. The $25 bonus will require 100 points to clear completely, the $50 bonus will require 300 points to clear, and the $100 bonus will require 800 points to clear.
Players can earn as many instant prize cards as they can muster; anyone who earns 60 prize cards will win $1,000 cash and 5,000 points.
Additionally, while any PartyPoints earned do not count towards achieving VIP status, they can still be spent in the online store like any other points.
As is the case with many PartyPoker promotions, players must opt-in to the VIP 500 Club via their account page. Points accumulated during real money play will not count towards the promotion until a player opts-in.
In order to become a Palladium VIP member, players must earn 9,000 PartyPoints in a calendar quarter. If a player earns 40,000 points in a quarter, he will achieve Palladium Elite status. Players reaching either of those two status levels will then have an opportunity to cash in points for significant cash and bonus rewards, as high as $50,000 cash or a $75,000 poker bonus for Palladium Elite members.
