Is it December already? I guess that’s what happens after Thanksgiving, but man, it still feels like…not…December? At any rate, with the weather getting colder and colder and the holiday season approaching, WSOP.com has launched a slew of promotions in New Jersey. Several of them have also been duplicated in Nevada, but as New Jersey is the more competitive market right now (WSOP.com is essentially alone in Nevada at the moment), we will devote our time to talking about what players in the Garden State can expect from these promos.
December SNG
Sit-and-Go leaderboards have been resurrected on WSOP.com, giving players a chance to compete for extra prize money on top of their usual Sit-and-Go winnings. There will be three tiers of leaderboards so that players with varying bankrolls can all participate: Low Limit ($5 buy-ins and below), Mid Limit ($20 and below), and High Limit ($25 and above). The will compete for $1,000, $2,500, and $4,000 in weekly prize money, respectively.
Everyone who finishes in the top 50 percent in Sit-and-Go will receive points on the leaderboard. The leaderboard will display the top 100 points earners, but only the top 30 will win money at the end of the week. The winner of each level will grab 23 percent of the prize pool, on down to 1 percent for each of the bottom five of the top 30. It should be noted, too, that heads-up and satellite Sit-and-Go’s do not count in this promotion.
There will be four weeks for the Sit-and-Go leaderboard contest, the first of which begins at midnight on Sunday, December 7th.
4x Challenge
This one starts today, so hop to it. It’s crazy simple and really low-stakes, so it shouldn’t be too pressing of a matter. Over the course of one week, players just need to play in four days of cash games to win a tiny prize. For the week of December 3rd through December 9th, players must earn at least two APPs in each of those four days to win a $1 tournament ticket. Yup, one buck. For the week beginning December 10th and ending December 16th, the APP requirement is doubled to four, while the tournament ticket will be worth $5. Exciting stuff. Players must opt-in to this promo in the poker software.
WSOP Circuit – Harrah’s Resort
Pretty basic one here. Each day at 6:00pm from December 14th through December 17th, WSOP.com in New Jersey will hold $30 re-buy and add-on qualifiers in which at least one $1,675 seat into the World Series of Poker Circuit – Harrah’s Resort Main Event is guaranteed.
December Deepstack Series
One event per day for seven days beginning Monday, December 15th with starting stacks of 200 big blinds. Sounds like fun to me. And what’s nice about the Deepstack Series is that it is very affordable, with buy-ins ranging from $10 to $100 (some events are re-buy and add-on). Over $20,000 in prize money is guaranteed throughout the week.
Holiday Gift Giveaway
Another simple cheapie, but those are kind of nice, I think. From December 21st through New Year’s Day, WSOP.com is raffling off at least one random prize each day. Prizes include things like golf clubs, televisions, cameras, and gourmet food gift packs. To qualify for the daily drawing, players just need to earn at least one APP in cash games or tournaments on that day.
