Online sports book and poker room Bodog announced that it will hold the second installment of its popular Poker Open this fall. The Main Event of the Bodog Poker Open II will take place on Sunday, October 5th at 4:00pm ET. An official announcement – complete with the full Bodog Poker Open II schedule – is expected to be released next week; in the meantime, players from across the world can mark their calendars for Sunday, October 5th. Registration for the Main Event and its qualifiers is currently available in the software’s lobby by clicking on “Scheduled Tournaments” and “BPO.”

The very first Bodog Poker Open took place at the beginning of March and was a rousing success. The tournament series consisted of five events and kicked off with a $250 no limit battle that featured 377 players. Bodog added $10,000 to the prize pool, which topped $100,000. Incredibly, when play was three-handed, two Team Bodog pros remained: Evelyn Ng and Josh Arieh. However, rusostreet, one of the top online players in the world, emerged as the champion. He took home just over $26,000 for his efforts. Ng took home $16,680 and Arieh pocketed $11,571.

Event #2 of the original Bodog Poker Open was a $300 buy-in six-handed tournament that attracted 249 players. Bodog kicked in another $10,000 to the prize pool, which swelled to $84,700. The winner, 3pounder, took home $23,292 for his efforts and an entry into the BPO Main Event. Coming in second place was pepsiontherocks, who walked away with $14,822. The top 27 spots paid out in this fast-paced event.

The third tournament held as part of the BPO was a $100 rebuy event. These types of tournaments are very popular on other online poker sites such as Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars and generally attract the highest bankroll players. The prize pool landed at $102,800 from the field of 270 players. The champion of Event #3 was PckAces, who won $28,270. Capturing nearly $18,000 for second was ibakitup. The top 27 spots paid out, just like in Event #2.

In Event #4, foldpreflop85 won $14,100 for taking down the $200 buy-in Pot Limit Hold’em tournament. Although the field was a tiny 185, Bodog added $10,000 to the prize pool, which ballooned to $47,000. Alcarmo finished third in Event #4 after taking fourth the night before. It represented an extremely difficult feat and was one of the highlights of the first Bodog Poker Open.

The lead-in to the Main Event was Event #5, held on a Friday night. It was a $150 buy-in Limit Hold’em tournament that saw a field of 174 players duel it out for their share of $36,100. In the end, bigcatfish took home over $10,000 for first place and was one of 18 players who cashed in the event. The winner of Event #1, rusostreet, returned to form and finished ninth in Event #5.

The Main Event was a $470+30 buy-in tournament with a field of 596 players. Bodog added $25,000 to the prize pool. The winner, phatcat, pocketed $76,280 for the win as well as a brand new Omega Speed Master watch, valued at over $4,000. Other top finishers in the Bodog Poker Open Main Event included _TheFinisher_ (second for $45,768), TheWacoKidd (third for $28,138), Zpaceman (fourth for $21,358), and CK3 (fifth for $16,781).
