The Bodog Mini Poker Series ended last week, and as a result there is already one player on his way to next year’s WSOP Main Event. Many players entered the 13 Mini Poker Series events, placed in the Semifinal Tournament or got a seat by being in the top ten of the Series’ Tournament Leaderboard. 82 of them qualified for the final, vying for a $12,000 package into next year’s WSOP, and John ‘Getn_Outa_MI’ Ormsby came out on top of them all.
Michigan-born Ormsby is only 25 years old and has been into online poker for the last 4, mainly grinding Limit Hold’em cash games on Bodog Poker and occasionally on other sites. Predictably, he is very interested in the side action that will be going on in Vegas: “I hope to go out there early and play in a couple of other events first. I’ve never played in the WSOP before. I was in Vegas years ago when I was younger, but it was before I played poker. I know there are also lots of juicy cash games around town to play in during the WSOP, I’m looking forward to all of it.” That said, his WSOP expectations are very measured at the moment: “I think it’s every poker player’s dream to win a WSOP bracelet, but I don’t see myself playing poker professionally. I would rather keep it as a hobby at this point.”
Ormsby looks forward to representing the Bodog brand as part of Team Bodog next year at the WSOP.
