Two months ago the poker community saw the end of the IPT San Remo event, with a field of 255 players. The event winner was Italian player Stefano Puccilli, who won his seat at San Remo after winning a satellite tournament at PokerStars. His earnings at San Remo were $170K.

Now IPT San Remo II has ended as well, but this time around the winner of the event is a poker pro, Ramzi Jelassi. The Swede battled his way through the big field that had about 370 players for a prize pool just short of a million dollars.

Since turning pro in 2005, Jelassi has had great success. His most notable cashes include a $71K cash for finishing in 1st place in the 2006 World Heads-up Poker Championship one thousand euro buy-in in Barcelona, a $66K score for 2nd in the 2006 Midnight Sun two thousand euro buy-in event at Helsinki, a $35K for finishing 25th in the 2008 Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event, a $35K for taking 20th in the 2008 EPT Barcelona Open and his biggest cash until now, a $165K for winning the two thousand euro No Limit Holdem at the EPT Prague in 2008.

The next event in the PokerStars – Italian Poker Tour will run from October 8th through the 12th at the Perla Casino & Hotel in Nova Gorica.
