Beginning today, PokerStars will be hosting the largest series of online tournaments they’ve ever run. There will be $40 million in guaranteed prizes, and at least two events per day.
The smallest guaranteed prize pool for an individual event will be $50K and the highest is the main event which has an unbelievable guaranteed prize pool of $10 million.
PokerStars wants to have as many players as they can at each event, thus satellites are available for each tournament of the World Championship of Online Poker.
Because PokerStars wants to cater to all of their players with the WCOOP events, they have included three high roller events that will most likely catch the attention of some of the best players in the world. The high rollers will have a No Limit Holdem tournament on September 6 at 2:30 pm ET with a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million, and the second high roller tournament will be a match play event on September 13th at 2:30pm ET with a prize pool of $800K. The final high roller tournament will be a HORSE event that will start on September 20th at 2:30 pm ET and the prize pool will be $1 million.
