Event 44 was a HORSE high roller tourney that had a $1 million prize pool. Out of the one hundred and three players, 14% were PokerStars pros. Names like Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Hachem, George Danzer, Barry Greenstein, Bertrand Grospellier and many others were spotted at the different tables. Daniel “djk123” Kelly was the man with the skill and luck to overcome such an outstanding player field.
The main event started on Sunday and it took two days of play until a final winner was declared. The field was composed of 2,144 players and the guaranteed prize pool was $10.7 million. All players gave their best efforts to be in the top 306 places that would take a piece of the massive prize pool. At the end it was Ukrainian player Yevgeniy “Jovial Gent” Timoshenko who took home the $1.7 million prize pool.
