While not as dramatic an update as the one this past November, Bodog Poker has released a new beta version of its poker software to the general public. Typically, beta software is distributed on a limited basis to preselected testers, but in this case, Bodog is looking for as much feedback as possible.

The most significant addition is, at long last, players will be able to adjust the size of their tables. This will be great for multi-tablers, but unfortunately, Bodog still only allows people to play at three tables at a time. Resizing cannot be done, as one might expect, when using Bodog’s “picture in picture” mode.

Bodog has also added what it calls “on demand player tools.” These are essentially the same types of things – chat, game details, player notes, statistics, profiles, and tournament details – that have been there in the past, but they are now modular, as all can be split away from the main game window. Only the desired tools show up, as they are selected form a drop-down list, so that they do not unnecessarily clog up the screen.

The beta software can be used alongside the “normal” software, so there is no problem reverting back to what you are used to if you don’t like the new version.
