The last event for the European Poker Tour in ’09 has taken players to the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic. Day 1A started with 219 players and around 150 remain. Some of the pros who are ding well so far include: JP Kelly, Florian Langmann, Sandra Naujoks, Arnaud Mattern, Marcel Luske, Marcin Horecki, Joep Van Den Bijgaart, Ruben Visser, Katja Thater, and Pieter de Korver.
PokerStars sponsored player Shaun Deeb recently announced that we would be avoiding poker tournaments in the months and maybe even years to come. But it sure is nice to see him playing in Prague, unfortunately he only lasted for an hour and forty five minutes. Deeb got involved in a hand against Martial Blangenwitsch where the flop ran 5h-Qc-5d and both players checked. The turn card was a Kd which apparently helped both players because the chips went all-in. The river card was a Jh and Martial showed As-5c. Shaub Deeb mucked his hand and headed for the rail.
Ben Kang was another poker pro who busted early. He got tangled in a hand holding A9 when his opponent Antonin Teisseire called the all-in with pocket sevens. The flop was Qc-5h-Ad-5s-7h which sent Kang home early.
