The Asia Pacific Poker Tour has ended their scheduled for this year with total success. The last event was scheduled to be played out at the Star City Casino in Sydney. A total of 396 players entered the tournament which created a prize pool that exceeded $2.1 million. The first place winner would take home more than $540K for his or her efforts. Among the field there was a large number of PokerStars pros, including: Eric Assadourian, Grant Levy, Lee Nelson, Emad Tahtouh, Peter Eastgate, Raymond Wu, Celina Lin, Bryan Huang, Jonathan Lin and Joe Hachem. After several days of intense play, Australian Aaron Benton managed to outplay the competition to become the newest APPT Grand Final Champion.
Tournament of Champions also took place in Sydney, which included some of the biggest names in Poker playing for different Charity Foundations. The nine players who played in the event were: Simon Watt, Amanda De Cesare, Tony Hachem, Peter Eastgate, Eric Assadourian, Grant Levi, Van Marcus, Aaron Benton and Joe Hachem. Van Marcus emerged victorious.
Meanwhile in the Czech Republic, Jan Skampa was busy taking down the EPT Prague event. Skampa, who also reached the final table of the EPT event in Portugal a few weeks ago, took home more than $600K for his efforts.
