The 2006 WSOP runner-up Paul Wasicka has managed to outplay the 96 player field after several days of play and has pocketed $139,422 for his effort.
Wasicka started playing poker in ’04 and he has been involved ever since, his first big win came shortly after his incursion into poker. His deep run at the ’06 WSOP was an outstanding feat that gave Wasicka six million reasons to keep playing poker and that eventually turned into more big wins for the poker pro.
Wasicka entered the 2007 National Heads-Up Championship where he faced some of the best poker players in the world including the then defending champion Eli Elezra. He also performed flawlessly and took the half a million dollars first place prize. He also finished in fourth place that same year at the $9,900 No Limit Hold’em event at the LA Poker Classic for $455K. His total earnings at the WPT events exceed $700K. Also during ’07 he managed to finish in twelve place at the Aussie Millions for $95K. Up to date his live tournament earnings exceed $7.7 million.
The players that sat down with Wasicka at the final table of the Tunica event were Carter Phillips, Dwyte Pilgrim, Jerry Saucier, Matt “Allinat420” Stout, Robert Thornhill, Richard Robb, Shane Zell and Larry Gurney. The heads-up battle was against Gurney and Wasicka has said that this win has boosted his confidence and he will be involved at the different major live tournaments that will be taking place in the following months.
