As they do every weekend, PokerStars handed out glory, bragging rights and, of course, life-changing money to their three new Sunday Major champions.
First on the slate was the Sunday Warm-Up, which garnered 4980 players and a $996K prize-pool. When there were only six players remaining, the action was paused and an unprecedented six-way deal was made, with the chip-leader Ramux getting the biggest chunk of cash. When play resumed and the dust finally settled, Ramux was the last man standing and he took home a grand total of $139,163 for his efforts. Ansgar2000 consoled himself with the $86K he picked up for finishing second, while Hismoon grabbed $77K for third.
Next up was PokerStars’ biggest tournament, the Sunday Million. A massive field of 10,123 players generated over $2 million in prize money, and a total of 1400 spots that paid out. When the final table was four-handed, the players reached an agreement, with the chip-leader MAE9690 getting the largest sum of $230K. The players left $30K on the table, and when all was said and done, MAE9690 grabbed that as well, bringing his total score to 260K. Camillo30 cashed in second for $177K, while reelhugefish took home $150K for third.
Last on the schedule was the PokerStars Sunday 500, which saw 1098 players register to create a 549K prize-pool and 162 paid spots. Unlike its bigger cousins, there were no deals made in the Sunday 500 as the final table played out the old-fashioned way, right down to a winner. In the end, m3tph bested 99NvrLosez to ship the title and $93K. 99 haad to settle for second place and $68.5K, while pad100 scooped $52K for third.
