On today’s Daily Deal, PartyPoker unleashes a brand new September promotion, Huck Seed and Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger dominate the Doubles Poker Championship, and PKR issues a major software upgrade for its fourth birthday. Sit back, relax, and enjoy today’s edition the Daily Deal…
Hello, I’m Sean Gibson and welcome to the Daily Deal by Poker News Daily.
In September, PartyPoker will hold the Snowball promotion, dishing out up to five thousand dollars in cash and one hundred thousand dollars in freeroll entries per person. PartyPoker officials have established fifteen different points levels for play between September 1st and 30th. As PartyPoker players move up in levels, they’ll keep everything they’ve earned in previous levels, making for a potentially lucrative payday. A total of five freerolls will be held and the Snowball promotion is open to every member of the site.
Also on the horizon for PartyPoker is the September running of the Monthly Million, which is slated to occur on the fifth. The tournament marks the first Monthly Million held since July Eighteenth as part of a revamped schedule in July and August. Qualifiers for the Monthly Million start as low as a dollar and the marquee PartyPoker event comes with a six-hundred forty dollar price tag. You can find it in the site’s lobby on the first Sunday of every month. As a reminder, PartyPoker does not accept real money action from the United States.
The Doubles Poker Championship rolled on over the weekend on GSN. Another two regular season matches were held beginning at nine o’clock PM Eastern Time on Saturday night. During the second half-hour of coverage, Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger partnered with Huck Seed. Interestingly, Seed won the World Series of Poker Main Event in Nineteen Ninety-Six when Lichtenberger was just eight years old. Lichtenberger and Seed defeated Gus Hansen and Justin “Boosted J” Smith heads-up.
In the first match of Saturday’s Doubles Poker Championship coverage, Phil Gordon and Erick Lindgren edged out Annette Obrestad and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond. Players bought into the unique team tournament for fifty-thousand dollars apiece and a regular season will take place before the playoffs. Catch the show weekly on GSN.
Finally, the online poker site PKR.com celebrated its fourth birthday on August Seventeenth. As part of the birthday celebration, PKR.com launched version Two Point Oh of its visionary software, which features an overhauled lobby that allows players to use a game finder wizard to locate the games and tournaments they want. Also included in the upgrade is a multi-table enhancement that allows users to play up to nine tables at once.
In even more PKR news, the site announced the dates and location of its popular PKR Live event. PKR Live Five returns November Twelfth through Fourteenth and will take place at a new home, the Fox Poker Club in London, England. The five-hundred dollar buy-in Main Event gets underway on November Thirteenth with an estimated prize pool of seventy-five thousand dollars.
