One of the top poker magazines in the world, Bluff Magazine, is currently hosting a survey asking readers to list their favorite poker players of 2009. There are several categories and a few surprises in them.
The readers will be asked to vote for their favorite player in ’09, with the choices being: Full Tilt Pro Phil Ivey, PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu, and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. They all have had great years, so the winner is anybody’s guess. Players that followed the WSOPE will definitely remember Negreanu’s solid performance at the main event, where he finished in 2nd place for $807K. People that kept a close eye on the WSOP will definitely remember Jason Mecier’s multiple cashes. Players that went or followed the ’09 PokerStars PCA event will most likely remember that ElkY won a No Limit Hold’em event for more than $400K. But the player that captured the most headlines this year is definitely Phil Ivey after his great performance at the main event of the WSOP where he made the final table and ended up taking 7th place.
Players will also get to vote for the top TV poker show of ’09, with the options being: WSOP, High Stake Poker, Poker After Dark and the World Poker Tour.
Other categories include favorite Las Vegas Poker Room (Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn and Caesars Palace) and favorite casino outside of Las Vegas (The Borgata at Atlantic City, The Commerce at LA, The Bike at LA and Foxwoods in Connecticut).
There are more categories listed, including top poker blog, favorite poke villain, favorite poke forum, favorite online poker site, best online poker player, favorite poker personality and top story of 2009.
