Sunday marks the conclusion of the Bodog Poker Open II. The Main Event is a $500 buy-in affair with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, the largest tournament ever offered on the online poker site. The day marks the conclusion of a very successful online poker series, which guaranteed $650,000 in total. Bodog’s sports book continues to take center stage; however, the results from the BPO II have been very encouraging.

Event #1 was a $50 rebuy No Limit Hold’em event that attracted 246 players. The online poker site threw in another $10,000 to the prize pool, making the final purse $52,750. Bodog member nutzkrackr outlasted the field, taking home $14,506. Heads-up, he defeated wmdbaker, who pocketed $9,231. Others at the final table were daisyxoxo, Lillian30, StraightNutz, alcarmo, manderbutt, boondock11, and Volcheko. You’ll notice that alcarmo also made the final table of Events #2 and #6. Needless to say, he has had a highly-profitable Bodog Poker Open.

Event #2 was a $200 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event. There were 181 participants, which pumped the prize pool up to $36,200. TheHesse muscled his way through the talented field, taking home $9,955. He defeated selachii777 heads-up. Joining these two at the final table were good82, Bazeman, quietwinner, golferboy19, PwnasaurusX, JohnnyGstaks, and alcarmo.

Event #4 was won by MOGREEN54. He took down a $200 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament that boasted a total prize pool of $26,600. To claim his $9,000 first place prize, MOGREEN54 edged out troy2264 heads-up. Others who comprised the final nine, in order of finish, were rufrider, RoyalME, abk4003, bbreinig, zubs1aa, thatsNice, and YerMyLilChpBtch.

Event #6, which took place on Friday, was a $110 buy-in $75,000 Guaranteed tournament. Team Bodog alum Killa_Tyven made the final table of this event, which was ultimately won by 2STICKS; Killa_Tyven finished as the runner up. Other final table participants included I_BET100K (third for $8,925), alcarmo (fourth for $6,000), dpottz (fifth for $4,875), nepatriots711 (sixth for $3,750), and gmac0522 (seventh for $2,625), 2 7 offsuite (eighth for $1,950), and TheHesse (ninth for $1,275).

Other Bodog Poker Open II events included a $270 buy-in $75,000 Guaranteed No Limit Hold’em tournament (#3) and a $215 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament (#5). Sunday’s Main Event will serve as the culmination of the tournament series. Each player will begin with a starting stack of 10,000 and blind levels will run 20 minutes each.

The online poker site regularly plays host to a $100,000 Guaranteed tournament each Sunday, which serves as its hallmark event. The tournament sees an overlay every week, which means that the actual prize pool falls short of the guarantee. Bodog is forced to cover the difference between the two, or the overlay. It’s unknown at the time of writing how many people will enter the Main Event of the Bodog Poker Open II and therefore how large the overlay may be.

Members of Team Bodog, who have had targets on their backs as part of a series of bounty events, include Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo, “Survivor: China” contestant Jean-Robert Bellande, Evelyn Ng, and David Williams. Each had a bounty on their heads during the Bodog Poker Open II, which allowed Average Joes to compete and gun for some of the true heavyweights of poker.
