In the wake of David Williams’ release, Bodog recently announced young poker professional Amanada Musumeci as Team Bodog Pro’s newest member. Known online as ‘manderbutt’ and ‘BodogMander’ on Bodog, Musumeci is a rising star in the online poker world. Her recent scores include a second place in PokerStars’ $100K Guarantee and third in Full Tilt Poker’s $150K Guarantee for $26K.
Born in Philadelphia in 1984, Musumeci attended Kutztown University where she studied Speech and Mass Communications. She got her start on in poker playing in Bodog’s mid-stakes tournaments, which she grinded to pay the bills. Not surprisingly, her roots with Bodog are part of the reason she signed with them: “It’s where I started. I think sometimes I can be a little bit of a pessimist, but I never expected to be successful like this. When it happens, it’s mind-boggling. It means a lot to be able to help the site grow again. When I started, there were a lot of regulars who I got to know.”
In the press release, Bodog quote Amanda on her hopes for the future of the site and the game. “Amanda believes that there are probably quite a few girls out there who, for whatever reason, are reluctant to take their game online. She says that there are more female players at land-based poker rooms than there are at online poker rooms. And she’d very much like to change that.”
Currently, Evelyn Ng and Amanda Musumeci are the only Team Bodog Pros.
