Many people around the world are preparing for the festivities that surround the World Championship of American football with Super Bowl XLIII, being held in Tampa, FL, this Sunday. Others – speaking of poker players – are searching for a way to take part in some poker activities while the pre-game shows are running. Bodog is looking to offer something for those people and many others, with special prizes being awarded for the champions of three different events tied into the Super Bowl festivities.
Kicking off their week of activities at 9:43PM Eastern Time this evening, Bodog will be celebrating the chaos that is Media Day at the Super Bowl with their special “Media Day Combo Qualifier.” The combo qualifier, with a $27+$2 buy in, will give out a seat to two special tournaments that will be a part of their special Super Bowl Weekend schedule. Two players will win the guaranteed combo qualifier seats and there will be another combo qualifier seat added for each $244 in the prize pool.
The winners from that tournament will be taking part in a special Super Bowl Weekend slate of tournaments that Bodog is offering. Saturday will feature an opportunity to join the Bodog “Flight Club.” The “Special Flight Club Semifinal” will be a $125+$10 buy in event with one seat to the Latin American Poker Tour event in Punta del Este, Uruguay up for grabs and additional seats offered for every 48 players that join in the tournament.
The $6000 packages that Bodog has put together will give each winner the opportunity to play in one of the fastest growing tournament schedules around today. The LAPT Punta del Este tournament is a $3700 buy in tournament and Bodog is throwing in another $2300 for travel and accommodations. No matter how many players will be participating in the online event, there will be one seat definitely available with the tournament starting at 4PM Eastern Time.
While the pregame shows offer their perspectives on the game Sunday afternoon, poker players will be able to satisfy their desire for poker with a special replacement tournament for Bodog’s normal $100,000 Guaranteed event. The “Super Bowl Special“ $100+$9 tournament will have a little more cash available for those who participate as Bodog has added $20,000 to the prize pool for players to battle over. The tournament starts Super Bowl Sunday at 4PM Eastern Time.
Whether you plan on watching the Super Bowl and celebrating this final weekend of professional American football or not, Bodog has certainly given reasons to head to the site for big poker tournaments to sidetrack you all weekend long.
