The Second event on the Asian Poker Tour this year will begin next week, August 12th in Macau. The tournament will feature a buy-in of 34,400 HKD (roughly $4,500 USD) and the eventual winner is expected to earn around half a million dollars. Last year’s champion, famed online professional Yevgeniy “Atimos” Timoshenko defeated a field of 257 entrants to claim the $500,000 first prize.
This year, the Macau series will run for 12 days, and feature a number of exciting preliminary tournaments that lead up to the Main Event:

Those traveling to Macau for the tournament will not find a shortage of action during their stay, as there are new tournaments starting daily, all with unique twists to them. The Asian Poker Tour has also written an open letter to 14-time Olympic Champion Michael Phelps in hopes that he will demonstrate his affinity for poker and return to Asia to participate in the Tournament.
