On March 1st, a familiar face will hit the airwaves in primetime. Ultimate Bet pro and Poker News Daily Guest Columnist Annie Duke will appear on the second installment of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” joining the 16 member star-studded cast. Contestants on the NBC reality series compete for money for charities of their choice.
In 2007, Bodog sponsored pro Jean-Robert Bellande appeared on “Survivor: China.” One of the original reality programs, “Survivor” airs on CBS. Bellande finished eighth in China. Now, it will be Duke’s turn to represent the poker world on the big screen. She has already appeared on “1 vs. 100” and “Poker After Dark,” both of which appear on NBC, which is owned by General Electric. “The Celebrity Apprentice” features 16 stars that will be split into two teams by gender. Each week, a Project Manager is appointed and teams compete against each other. In the end, the losing side must enter the boardroom to face real estate mogul and show host Donald Trump. Then, one person will hear the dreaded words “You’re fired.”
Joining Duke, a World Series of Poker bracelet holder and one of the top women in the industry, will be Clint Black, a Grammy Award winner. The country music superstar is well-known for songs such as “Like the Rain” and “A Better Man.” Also on “The Celebrity Apprentice” will be Khloe Kardashian, who has appeared on the popular reality series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” She is sisters with former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Kim Kardashian and is a step-sister to “Bromance” host Brody Jenner, who also appeared on MTV’s “The Hills.”
Playboy Playmate of the Year Brande Roderick will also join Duke on the NBC show and will play for the California Police Youth Charities. Olympic figure skater and commentator Scott Hamilton will compete as well. Hamilton took home a gold medal from the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo. A member of the Olympic Hall of Fame, Hamilton currently brings his insight to the sport as an analyst. He’ll be playing for the Cleveland Clinic.
Other members of the cast include comedian Tom Green and motorcycle aficionado Jesse James. Green previously hosted a self-titled comedy show that aired on MTV in the United States. He has also appeared in a bevy of movies, including “Charlie’s Angels” with wife Drew Barrymore, “Freddy Got Fingered,” and “Stealing Harvard.” James owns West Coast Choppers, made famous by television show “Monster Garage.” Opposing the two male contestants will be Natalie Gulbis and Claudia Jordan. Gulbis won the Evian Masters in 2007, a major professional golf tournament. Jordan served as a model on NBC’s “Deal or No Deal,” hosted by comedian Howie Mandell, and on “The Price is Right.”
Two Rivers, Joan and Melissa, are among the 16 celebrities in the cast. Seventy-five year old Joan Rivers, formerly a talk show host, is the oldest contestant. Her daughter, Melissa Rivers, is a 41 year-old actress. Bad boys Dennis Rodman and Andrew Dice Clay will provide a stark contrast to the Rivers family. Rodman, a former NBA star and professional wrestler, has since taken up the reality television circuit, appearing on shows such as “Celebrity Mole” and “Celebrity Championship Wrestling,” hosted by industry legend Hulk Hogan. Clay is a controversial comedian.
Rounding out the cast are former NFL and University of Georgia standout running back Herschel Walker and singers Brian McKnight and Tionne Watkins. “The Celebrity Apprentice” will debut on Sunday, March 1st at 9:00pm ET and, according to Reality Burns, each of its episodes will last two hours. In the past, episodes had been an hour in length.
This is NBC’s second installment of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” In the finals of the first running, “America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan upset country music star Trace Adkins to win $250,000 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The season debuting in March will be the eighth overall for the Trump franchise.
