Check Raise Management Signs Two Top Professionals

Part of the challenge of making a name for yourself in the world of poker is to have a powerful management organization behind you that can enhance your reputation in the game as well as in other arenas. With that in mind, two top professionals announced last week that they have signed with the up-and-coming management organization Check Raise Management for their poker affairs.

Despite only being in existence for six months, Check Raise Management has been able to sign on players such as top tournament and Full Tilt Poker professional Andrew Feldman, fellow Full Tilt player Richard Ashby and former Party Poker European Open champion Roberto Romanello. On Friday, the company announced that it has also signed on to manage cash game maven Sammy George and former Irish Poker Open champion and PokerStars’ SCOOP champion Jude Ainsworth.

George, nicknamed “Any Two” for his highly aggressive style of play, has been a stalwart of the English poker arena. He has appeared on such popular English poker shows as “The Poker Den” and the Ladbrokes Poker Million. Full Tilt Pro Roland De Wolfe, who has battled George in many European contests, commented about him, “He uses his style to great advantage; people will always pay him off as they think he is bluffing. I have a good feeling he is going to bring back plenty of money from Vegas.” His success on the felt shows in the nearly $3 million he has won in the past year.

Ainsworth, dubbed “J Thaddeus” in the online world, is one of the most underrated European players around. The Irishman has a great deal of success in the short span of his poker career, winning the Irish Poker Championship in 2008. In April of 2009, Ainsworth battled through the massive field in the $10,000 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Main Event, where he captured the inaugural title and earned almost $1 million. He is currently ranked in many versions of a Player of the Year race as one of the top five players in the world.

In an exclusive interview with Poker News Daily, Check Raise Management spokesman Nick Ferro lauded the achievements of the new signees along with the other members of the stable. “From looking at our team, you can see we work with the cream of the crop”, Ferro stated. “Jude has won a previous FTOPS event and the SCOOP Main Event, Sammy is a massive cash winner in the biggest game outside Europe. Andrew (Feldman) has over $4 million in online cash wins and Roberto (Romanello) recently won the European Open and is probably one of the best readers in the live game at present.”

Ferro also has some strong predictions for the strength of the Check Raise Management team entering this year’s World Series of Poker. “All of our players will be there and I look for them to have a great deal of success. I see Sammy making two final tables and Andrew taking a bracelet in one of the Hold’em events. Others, such as Roberto, Jude and Richard, should bring back several cashes among themselves.” After the WSOP concludes this year, the Check Raise Management team will be making the stops at all of the top events throughout Europe, including the WSOP Europe, the European Poker Tour and the Asian Poker Tour stops in Macau and Manila, Ferro said.
