When it comes to mixed game formats, there is little discussion about who the preeminent players are. Michael Mizrachi, with three titles in the $50,000 Poker Players’ Championship at the World Series of Poker, comes to mind, as does Poker Hall of Famer and fellow three-time PPC winner Brian Rast. Another name can now be etched into that list: David ‘Chino’ Rheem, who walked away last week with his second-ever overall title in the PokerGO Tour’s Mixed Game Series.

Rheem’s Early Edge Holds Up

The 2025 PGT Mixed Game Series, the fourth time the festival has been run by the streaming service PokerGO, kicked off at the end of February at the PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas. Over the seven-tournament schedule, Rheem demonstrated his mastery early and often, allowing him to build up a decent lead over the field. By the time the final tournament on the schedule reached its final table, Rheem’s overall title was all but assured.

Of the seven events on the tournament schedule, Rheem won one of them, Event #4’s $10,000 Eight-Game tournament, to scoop up over $195K in winnings. Two more final table finishes (Event #3, $10,000 H.O.R.S.E., Event #6, $15,000 Dealer’s Choice) contributed to Rheem’s final total of 384 points. Even with those excellent achievements, Rheem still had a bit of a sweat in the finishing tournament of the Mixed Game Series, the $25,000 Ten-Game Championship.

At the start of Event #7, a host of players were still within striking distance of taking down Rheem’s run at a second PGT Mixed Game title. With eight players to go, Maxx Coleman still had a chance to catch Rheem, although he would have to win the tournament to top Rheem. Once Coleman dropped to the rail in eighth place (James Obst eventually won the Ten-Game Championship), Rheem’s second championship in the difficult format was sealed.

1. David ‘Chino’ Rheem, 384 points
2. Nick Schulman, 336
3. Maxx Coleman, 322
4. Daniel Negreanu, 302
5. Ryan Miller, 285
6. James Obst, 277
7. Samuel Strenfield, 213
8. David Funkhouser, 192
9. Josh Arieh, 178
10. Aaron Sacks, 176

Rheem has won the overall title in two of the four Mixed Game Series the PGT has run in its history.

PGT Schedule Dominates Next Month of Tournament Action

The PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas are going to be extremely busy over the coming month. Once the $100,000 Mixed Game Super High Roller concludes today (Michael Moncek is leading a final table that includes Benny Glaser, Yuri Dzivelevski, Chad Eveslage, and Negreanu), they will have a little time to clean up before welcoming in their next series. Beginning on March 25, the PGT PLO Series, focused exclusively on Pot Limit Omaha as the format, begins with a $5000 tournament. The PLO Series will consist of eleven different tournaments, some with bounties, capped off by a $25,000 Championship Event.

Following the conclusion of the PLO Series, one of the “prestige” events of the PGT, the 2025 U.S. Poker Open, will open action on April 7.
