Exactly 600 players will comprise the combined Day 2 field at the 2012 European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona Main Event Tuesday, each seeking the first Shamballa Jewels bracelet of Season 9. Day 1A saw 403 players begin the festivities and another 679 registered for Day 1B, bringing the total field to 1,082 runners. Ruthenberg and Sweden’s Kent Lundmark both still have a chance to become the first repeat winners of EPT Barcelona. Ruthenberg won it in Season 5 while Lundmark took the title in Season 7.
Day 2 is already underway at the Casino de Barcelona, as the 600 Day 1 survivors inch their way closer to the money. The plan is to play five or six levels before calling it a night. With the payouts starting at 160th place, it looks like it the bursting of the money bubble will likely have to wait until tomorrow.
