Erick Lindgren is a World Series of Poker bracelet winner who also has a coveted WSOP Player of the Year title under his belt.
In this interview, Lindgren discusses his passion for sports and his take on sports betting. Lindgren is well known in Las Vegas for being a more than capable sports bettor.
When asked for impressions about the most recent Main Event of the FTOPS series, which Lindgren hosted, he said, “I think that the invention of Multi-Entry and it’s like giving you extra lives in a video game. You don’t just take one bad beat and you are done. But, it’s not as bad or as expensive as a re-buy tournament. You know what you are getting in for when you start and I love it. It’s brings a crazy prize pool and I hope to see more of it.”
Does multi-entry favor some of the top tournament pros? Lindgren responded, “I saw a guy call off his whole stack with 89 on the first level, so I looked him up and he entered in six times, so, don’t think that the fish don’t have money. Don’t listen to all the guys that think the fish aren’t playing. They are playing.”
In 2008, Lindgren won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $5,000 Mixed Hold’em (Limit/No-Limit) event for $374,505. He also has two World Poker Tour events and has made an impressive five final tables. He also is an accomplished writer have written the book, “World Poker Tour: Making the Final Table”, which covers live tournament strategies.
Lindgren is a native of California and is a sponsored pro at Full Tilt Poker. As of 2010 his total live tournament winnings are in excess of a whopping $7.4 million, with a little over $2 million of that being earned at the WSOP. His nickname in poker circles is E-Dog.
