Evander Holyfield is considered to be one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time and was a decorated champion during his career. Hailing from the United States, he is a multiple world champion which earned him the nickname “The Real Deal” which is the moniker for his online poker site skin, RealDealPoker. Holyfield is also an Olympian, winning a bronze medal in the Light Heavyweight division at the 1984 Summer Games. He currently stands at the only boxer in history to win the World Heavyweight title four times. Some of the big names in boxing history he’s defeated include George Foreman, Larry Holmes and twice beat Mike Tyson.
Holyfield joins site editor Dan Cypra from the red carpet just moments before the start of the World Series of Poker’s annual charity event, Ante Up for Africa. The two talk a little bit about boxing and also about Holyfield’s passion for poker.
The Ante Up for Africa charity helps those in need in the continent of Africa and his hosted annually by the World Series of Poker. Both Annie Duke and Don Cheadle, two of the three people that started up this worthy cause, were in attendance at the red carpet event and tournament. Some of the other notables in the field were Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Ray Romano.
