Full Tilt FTOPS XV

Full Tilt Poker has been hosting the FTOPS events since ’06, and the series has undergone some important changes since then. The most remarkable change is in the total prize pool at stake which has grown extremely fast. The first series had a total prize pool of one million dollars distributed in eight tournaments and the recently announced series will have a total of 27 tournaments and a guaranteed prize pool of $17 million.

The scheduled events will include knockout, shootout, turbo and super turbo tournaments, as well as a two day event that will have an outstanding guaranteed prize pool of $2 million. The featured event will be played on February 21st and there will be $2.5 million at stake.

The complete schedule runs through eleven days, the first tournament will be a No Limit Hold’em tourney on February 10th with a $1 million prize pool. The biggest prize pool tournaments will be played during the weekend – the first weekend will have over $4.4 million at stake, distributed among seven tournaments. Five of those tournaments will be played in the No Limit Hold’em variation, and there will also be Pot Limit Hold’em and heads-up tournaments. The following weekend will have a remarkable overall amount of $6.7 million on the line, distributed among eight tournaments, one of which is the two day event for $2 million.

Full Tilt Poker will also have six different challenges available that will reward players who earn their seat to an FTOPS events through the satellite tourneys that will run around the clock. The first challenge is called the Satellite Seat Challenge and it will award seats to exclusive freerolls depending on the amount of satellites won. The second challenge is called Hold’em Challenge and it consists of performing five different tasks during one event and depending on how many are completed successfully a seat at an exclusive freeroll will be awarded to the players. The third challenge is called Survival Challenge and will focus on players that usually run deep in tournaments, so all players that pass level 10 in as many tournaments as possible will receive exclusive access to certain freerolls. The fourth challenge is called Double Up Challenge and it consists of doubling up the starting stack at any point in the different tourneys. The main challenge is called Million Dollar Challenge and it has a total of $1 million for the player or players who make the money in at least 17 FTOPS events.
