Full Tilt Poker Crowns New Champions: doublencs, shiftzerg, and UgotaBanana

Second only to PokerStars in terms of weekend guarantees, Full Tilt Poker offers their own schedule of potentially life-altering prize-pools, and this past weekend was certainly no exception.

First up was The Sunday Brawl, a hefty $256 knock-out tournament that saw 2911 players register to generate a $582K prize-pool. When the tournament ended, doublencs emerged victorious after defeating zhivago2 in the heads-up battle. Doublencs cashed in on $118K for his win, while zhivago2 took home a $76K consolation prize, and Liiffe grabbed $56.5K for third.

Next on the schedule was Full Tilt Poker’s biggest tournament of the weekend, the 750K Guarantee. The tourney garnered 4180 entrants, which bloated the prize-pool to $836K. At the end of a long and grueling day, shiftzerg became Full Tilt Poker’s newset 750K champion, taking home $147.5K for his efforts. Kwickfishycake’s second place finish was worth $89K, while Luffy-san took $58.5K for third, and Laurrra settled on $42.5K for fourth.

Lastly on Full Tilt Poker’s slate was The Sunday Mulligan, which saw 1277 players register to push the prize-pool to $255K. Play finally ended when UgotaBanana beat IHuntItuShipIt to grab the $56K first-prize, while IHunt took second for $37.5K. Whatastinker received almost $26K for his third place finish, while mestre_urubu won $21.5K for fourth.

And so ended another great day of action on Full Tilt Poker, with three new champions who are significantly richer than they were just 24 hours ago. Who knows, maybe next week it could be you we’re writing about.
