Full Tilt Poker players from around the world have descended on the world’s second largest online poker site this weekend for Sit & Go Madness. The promotion was last held in late March and was a stunning success.
Sit & Go Madness is a 48 hour salute to the popular variety of tournament that many novice online poker players equate to their home games. Full Tilt recognizes that players of all bankrolls head to its virtual felts. Consequently, the site has divided its sit and gos into four parts. Group A represents sit and gos with a buy-in of $1 and $2. Group B consists of single-table tournaments with a price tag of $5 to $11. Group C contains sit and gos with $20 to $33 buy-ins. Finally, Group D represents the upper echelon of sit and gos, featuring buy-ins of $50 to $110. The Sit & Go Madness promotion began Friday afternoon, June 19th, and runs through June 21st at 4:00pm ET.
The 48 hours of Full Tilt Poker’s Sit & Go Madness are divided into 24 two-hour blocks. At the end of each two-hour period, the top seven points earners on each group’s leaderboard will be awarded a cash prize. The number of points a person receives is based on their finish in a sit and go. In order to calculate the leaderboard points on Full Tilt, players should multiply the event’s buy-in by the number of entrants (in essence, the prize pool) and divide by position of finish. Then, take the square root of that number. A full leaderboard calculator is available on the online poker room’s website.
Each of the top seven finishers in Group A during the two-hour window takes home at least $1, with a top prize of $20. For Group B, that amount varies between $5 and $100. For Group C, the top seven will earn between $10 and $200. For Group D, the top finishers grab at least $25, with its champion every two hours pocketing $500. The top point tallies over the course of each two-hour time block will appear on the Overall Leaderboard, whose winner will be determined after the clock strikes 4:00pm ET on Sunday. The top two players on each group’s Overall Leaderboard will be entered into a $5,000 freeroll that kicks off on Saturday, June 27th at 3:05pm ET.
Also to be held on June 27th is a $50,000 Madness Freeroll. In order to qualify for the five-figure freebie, players must win two qualifying sit and gos during the 48 hour promotion. First place in the Madness Freeroll is expected to be around $5,000 and the competition will undoubtedly be fierce. Once a player wins their second freeroll, they will be automatically entered for the tournament. The Madness Freeroll will kick off at 4:50pm ET next weekend.
The final component of the Full Tilt Poker Sit & Go Madness promotion is the Madness Raffle. Players who cash in any qualifying sit and go over the weekend will receive one raffle ticket; gear from the popular Full Tilt Store and tournament buy-ins are up for grabs. In fact, the raffle’s grand prize is a Deluxe Home Game Package, which features a poker table, 500 piece chipset, and two leather card deck cases. The poker table itself retails for 246,000 points in the Full Tilt Store and has a capacity of 10 players. It’s completely freestanding and includes cup holders, a padded felt, and cushy armrests in a similar style to what you’d see at a brick and mortar casino. A bevy of T$ will also be up for grabs, along with satellite tokens, Full Tilt shirts, and Full Tilt hats. Over 1,000 prizes will be on the line.
