The 2007 Aussie Millions main event winner and Full Tilt Poker pro Gus Hansen has hit a rough downswing that has damaged his bankroll with a loss that exceeds $2.9 million. His EV turned to the negative numbers in March and since then he has lost a significant amount of money each month. He has finished the past two years with losses that exceed half a million dollars but kept below $800K. If his EV remains as it is, he could be facing the biggest loss of his career.
This year another high stakes player faced the same challenge: Tom “durrrr” Dwan was down by January more than $3 million and he kept losing until he reached $3.7 million on February, he then made a great comeback and recovered all his losses until his profit for the year reached $1.5 million; at this point his EV became negative again but in a more controlled manner and his overall balance for the year is negative $1.3 million.
On the other side of the road sits Full Tilt Poker pro Phil Ivey, he won $2 million in 2007 and a remarkable $7.3 million in 2008, this year his EV hit a downswing but he is up $1.6 million for this year.
Another Full Tilt Poker pro that has had a great performance this year and last year as well is Patrik Antonius, in 2007 he had a profit of $1.4 million and for this year his bankroll has been increased in $4.1 million.
