Full Tilt Poker Starts Strong with FTOPS XIII

Full Tilt Pokers thirteenth installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series got underway this week with a number of daily tournaments with juicy prize pools.

The series officially began Wednesday night with a $216 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Tournament with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Despite it being the middle of the week, 5,712 players put up money to play for the title, money, and FTOPS Gold Jersey. The tournament took 12 hours to complete, with the eventual winner, “Deception Pt”, claiming his $195,350.40 first prize just a few minutes after 9 am EST.

Event #2 began just a few hours later at 2 pm EST on Thursday, a $322 buy-in No Limit Hold’em 6-handed shootout. A shootout is a tournament where there are no table breaks and no changing seats: players sit at a 6-handed table and don’t stop until there is only one left. Once every table has just one person remaining, players are given a new table of six and the process continues until there is only one table remaining. The shootouts winner, Jive32, won $62,632.50 for winning four consecutive 6 person tables.

Event #3 began last night and continued into the early hours of this morning. The $216 buy-in $200K guaranteed Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament drew 1,086 entrants and the winner UgA7211 raised, scooped, and chopped his way to $48,870.

The FTOPS continues today with Event #4, a $216 NLH 1 rebuy 1 add-on tournament with a $500K Guarantee at 2 pm EST, and Event #5, $216 7 Card Stud $100K Guaranteed at 9 pm EST. Satellites are running around the clock for each of the 22 remaining events, leading up to the $535 buy-in $2.5 Million Guaranteed Main Event on August 16th.
