Full Tilt Pro Phil Ivey Ranked Number One at ESPN

ESPN has implemented a ranking for the top poker players in the world. The ranking will take in consideration online play as well as live games and tournament results on a monthly basis. A group of poker experts will carry out the difficult task of voting for the top players each month on a board called “The Nutz”.

The inaugural leaderboard has Phil Ivey in the first spot, which won’t come as a surprise to anybody due to his notable results during the month of November versus the online sensation Isildur1. Their sessions at Full Tilt have captured the attention of the poker community around the world. Ivey was also part of the November Nine at the WSOP final table, where he finished in seventh place for $1.4 million.

In second place is Patrik Antonius, who has also locked horns with Isildur1. He is up almost $7.5 million in 2009 alone.

Third place was awarded to a poker veteran, Daniel Negreanu, who has been a regular face at some of the biggest tournaments world wide. He also holds the top spot on the all-time tournament winnings leaderboard.

Fourth place was awarded to Tom “durrrr” Dwan, who despite his tender ag has made many millions of dollars with his online play. He was also recently signed by Full Tilt and has said that he would be entering more tournaments to try to score big wins at the major live events. He has also played Isildur1, but unfortunately he has dumped over $5 million to the unknown Swede.

Rounding out the leaderboard are Barry Greenstein , Jason Mercier, Jeffrey Lisandro, Bertrand Grospellier, Phil Galfond and Yevgeniy Timoshenko.
