GGPoker has revealed the schedule for the upcoming 2023 WSOP Online. Running August 20 to October 2, WSOP Online will offer 33 official gold bracelet events and $60 million in guaranteed prize pools.
WSOP Online debuted in 2020, when the traditional, live World Series of Poker had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic (though Caesars did eventually hold a hybrid online/live WSOP Main Event). But even with the live poker explosion post-pandemic shutdowns, the WSOP Online has remained popular, so here it is, back again for its fourth year.
The two highlight events of the 33-tournament schedule are the $5,000 WSOP Online Main Event (Event #28) with a $25 million guaranteed prize pool and the $10,300 GGMillion$ Super High Roller (Event #33), which comes with a $10 million guarantee.
GGPoker has also pointed to four other events as ones to watch:
Event #2 – 300 Gladiators of Poker Opener – $300 buy-in – $2.5 million guaranteed
Event #7 – $210 Mystery Millions $1M Top Bounty – $210 buy-in – $10 million guaranteed
Event #12 $500 Mini Main Event NLH – $500 buy-in – $2.5 million guaranteed
Event #17 $1,500 Millionaire Maker in Paradise – $1,500 buy-in – $5 million guaranteed
In addition to the tournaments, there will be a competition within the competition, as players will be divided into four “continents”: Americas, Europe, Mediterranean, and Asia Pacific. Players will earn points for their finishes in WSOP Online events and will be ranked on their respective continental leaderboards. The champions of each leaderboard will receive a $35,000 WSOP Paradise prize package.
On top of that, GGPoker will host 33 freerolls – one for each bracelet event, if that was not already obvious – which will have up to $100,000 in WSOP Paradise packages and C$ in prizes each. It’s luck of the draw, though, for determining who gains entry into the different freerolls. Every player in a WSOP Online event who is categorized in the same “continent” group as the winner will receive a ticket into the corresponding freeroll. So, if you aren’t one of the skilled and fortunate players to win a WSOP Online bracelet, might as well root for someone in your corner of the globe.
The WSOP Online events are generally on the pricey side, with more than half costing at least four figures to enter. A few are in the $100-$400 buy-in range, so there are options for players who do not have excessively deep bankrolls.
