Railbirds are getting a kick out of all the action that Isildur is providing at the high stake tables at Full Tilt. In his most recent session, he has played against Ilari “ziigmund” Sahamies, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Brian Townsend and others. His volume of play is incredible and the amount of hours he has spent in front of his computer is mind blowing.
In the session he had against ziigmund yesterday, he expressed that he was tired and that he barely could keep his eyes open, which might explain why he lost the $2 million to ziigmund.
Isildur has definitely impressed the poker community and shown that he has the skill to sit down at any poker table and win. However, knowing when to stop playing is something that all poker players have to learn, and so the question remains, does Isildur know when to stop? Playing tired or on tilt won’t lead to successful sessions. In fact, players who keep playing and are not in the correct state of mind could are essentially throwing money away. Players like Gus Hansen and durrrr are the best examples. The downswings they have experienced wouldn’t have gotten so out of hand in they knew when to stop playing. Poker is an extremely psychological game, and if a player is running bad instead and going on tilt, it’s better to stop playing and focus on some other activity for a few hours before returning to the tables.
