Saturday marked the second of three starting days of the World Poker Tour’s North American Poker Championship. In advance of Sunday’s Day 1C, Jamie Rosen, who plays on PokerStars under the name “thecronic420,” led the way with 196,300 chips on Day 1B, giving him 25% more than the next closest stack. The survivors from Day 1B will reconvene at the Fallsview Casino on Ontario, Canada on Monday for Day 2, joining those players leftover from Day 1A and Day 1C.
In a day that saw a number of well-known players in the field, the final 10 that remained shook out as follows:

Mizzi was the low stack after Day 1B, which ended after five completed levels of play. On his poker resume is a chop of the Irish Poker open for €500,000. Mizzi is a former winner of the $215 rebuy on PokerStars and made a pair of final tables in the $100 rebuy in September. He’s also a member of Team Betfair along with 2007 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event winner Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad.
Greenstein took down his third WSOP bracelet in 2008 in a Razz event. He’s also cashed in each of the three years that the $50,000 HORSE Championship has been held. He’s one of the top minds in poker and is the stepfather of Joe Sebok. Rousso, like Greenstein, is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and finished eighth in a No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed tournament during the 2006 WSOP for $62,000. She’s nicknamed “LadyMaverick” online and took second in the 2007 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Main Event after first place winner was disqualified.
Rousso is engaged to fellow Team PokerStars Pro member Chad Brown. WPT Live Updates Hostess Amanda Leatherman asked Rousso about the wedding planning process. Rousso answered, “We’ve been so busy that it’s really been difficult to have a life at all and be on the poker circuit. We’ll plan it and set a date in the next month or so. We’re leaning towards Vegas.”

The North American Poker Championship is unique due to its lower legal age limit than tournaments held in the United States. The tournament is open to 19 and 20 year-olds, whereas the legal gambling age in the U.S. is 21. When Day 2 begins on Monday, blinds will be 400-800 with a 100 ante.
