JARFISH Wins UBOC $2,100 High Roller Event

The richest UB.com Online Championship (UBOC) tournament held during its current cycle took place on Sunday. Event #16 was a $2,100 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Deep Stack tournament that brought in a field of 387 players. The prize pool totaled $774,000 – a full $24,000 above the guarantee – and a top prize of $122,000 was awarded following a four-way deal.

It’s not every day that over $120,000 falls into your lap, but in the case of November Niner Matt “JARFISH” Jarvis, that’s exactly what happened yesterday. Jarvis edged out JNIKERSON3 for the title and, amazingly, second place was still worth $116,000. The top 36 players finished in the money and the tournament is one of only two on the UBOC 6 schedule to carry a four-figure buy-in.

Third place and a bankroll boost of $120,000 went to ATXGEYER. Finishing right behind him on the UBOC 6 Event #16 leaderboard was Canada’s 2EAZZY, who pulled in nearly $92,000. 2EAZZY has had a considerable amount of success in High Roller events in the past. During last year’s PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), he took third in the series’ $10,000 High Roller event for $344,000. In 2010, he also cashed in the WCOOP Main Event, a $5,000 buy-in poker tournament, for $18,000.

TRADEBYDAY landed in fifth place and pulled in $50,000. Taking sixth was New Jersey’s PIMPOFPOKERZ, who won the Full Tilt Poker $80,000 Guaranteed last July for $18,000. Four days prior to his Full Tilt score, PIMPOFPOKERZ final tabled the PokerStars Wednesday Quarter Million for $19,000. His final table run in yesterday’s UBOC High Roller event was worth $40,000.

Also appearing at the high-stakes UBOC 6 final table was XBOURNE, whose seventh place finish meant a $32,000 bankroll boost. Eighth place went to Russia’s TRUEDOPP. The Russian has been highly successful to date on the virtual felts. Last May, he final tabled a $530 Rebuy during the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) for $101,000. Three weeks before Halloween, he spooked the competition in the Sunday Million and took second place for $168,000.

Rounding out the High Roller Event’s final table was RPLRPL. Here were the final table payouts reflecting the four-way chop:

1. JARFISH – $122,903
2. JNIKERSON3 – $116,211
3. ATXGEYER – $120,000
4. 2EAZZY – $92,902
5. TRADEBYDAY – $50,310
6. PIMPOFPOKERZ – $40,635
7. XBOURNE – $32,895
8. TRUEDOPP – $25,155
9. RPLRPL – $17,415

Two events are on the docket today as part of UBOC 6; both kick off tonight at 20:05 ET. Event #18 is a $215 No Limit Hold’em Cubed (one rebuy plus one add-on) contest that will shell out at least $150,000. Longtime UB.com rep Mark “P0ker H0” Kroon will serve as its host.

At the same time, a $215 Eight Game Mix begins. The tournament features the five games that comprise HORSE along with Pot Limit Omaha, Pot Limit Omaha Eight or Better, and Pot Limit Hold’em. Blind levels during the Eight Game Mix will stretch for 10 minutes and two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Brandon Cantu will host.
