Jason Senti, otherwise known as PBJaxx in the online poker world, was eliminated in 7th place at the World Series of Poker Main Event. Senti came into the November Nine in 2010 as the shortest stack with just 15 big blinds. Due to the fact that the blinds were so high and that his stack was so short, many felt that Senti would be the first person eliminated, which actually turned out to be Soi Nguyen.
Senti was in an epic hand for his life where his K-7 offsuit ran into Joseph Cheong’s Ace Nine. When Cheong hit his ace on the turn, he took the lead, but it gave Senti a draw to any diamond for what would be the winning flush. After the cameras were all set up and ready, the crowd chanting for both Senti and Cheong in the hand, the dealer threw down a ten of diamonds to give Senti the nine out suckout.
The hand that eliminated Senti was even more dramatic, once again against Joseph Cheong. Senti showed up with Ace King and Cheong showed pocket nines. The flop gave Senti trip Kings for a huge lead in the hand, but it wasn’t meant to be as Cheong hit runner-runner cards to grab the winning straight and eliminate Senti.
Senti is an instructor at Bluefire Poker and is a professional poker player specializing in playing online heads-up No Limit Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha games. He hails from the state of Minnesota, where in Minneapolis they featured him on the front page of the newspaper the day that the final table played out. He was joined by his wife and friends who chanted “Fear the ‘Stash” in reference to the mustache seen both on Senti (along with his beard) and those in the crowd. Senti, for finishing in seventh place, takes home $1.3 million which is his largest cash in a tournament.
