Rumors swirled all over the internet on Thursday that Jennifer “Jennicide” Leigh, the first pro signed to IronDuke.com, a popular online poker room, was dating the founder of Napster, Shawn Fanning. Poker News Daily has confirmed that the two are indeed together, taking one of poker’s most eligible bachelorettes off the market, at least for the foreseeable future.
At its height, Napster was one of the largest file-sharing companies in the world. During the early part of this decade, Napster became so big that the Recording Industry Association of American (RIAA) filed lawsuits against residents of the United States who were sharing large amounts of files, many of them on Napster. The company has since become a subscription service and is now owned by electronics retailer Best Buy after it changed hands several times.
Fanning then went on to found digital licensing company SNOCAP, which he sold to imeem, and remains one of the top young entrepreneurs on the planet. He met Leigh on Internet Relay Chat (IRC), which actually pre-dates Napster. According to several internet gossip sites, the two also share a passion for World of Warcraft (WoW). In July, Leigh told Poker News Daily in an exclusive interview that she was attending a professional World of Warcraft competition in Dallas. She’s also a sucker for Dragon Warrior, Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Magic: The Gathering, which has become a breeding ground for many of today’s top poker players. Like poker, Magic involves a high degree of skill and strategy.
Leigh joined on with IronDuke.com in July and was the first pro to sign on with any site on the Merge Gaming Network. She’s known as “Jennicide” in the online poker world, a nickname she’s received a considerable amount of flack for over the ages, but one that has also become feared. IronDuke.com runs “Jennicide” Bounty tournaments to promote Leigh’s involvement. These events have a $16.50 buy-in, $150 added to the prize pool, and a $60 bounty placed on Leigh’s head. The site just announced that it will add a $20,000 Guaranteed Tournament to the schedule every Sunday. IronDuke.com doles out more than $200,000 in guarantees and freerolls every month.
Leigh has posed for the popular “FHM Online” magazine. Her spread can be found in the May, 2007 edition. She also appeared in the May, 2008 edition of “Playboy.” She earned fame by taking down two “Poker Royale: Battle of the Ages” tournaments, which aired on GSN. In her first table, she defeated “Miami” John Cernuto, Bodog pro Evelyn Ng, WSOP Main Event winner Dan Harrington, T. J. Cloutier, and Erin Ness. In her second table, she bested Harrington, Ness, Cernuto, Maureen Feduniak, and Dutch Boyd.
The IronDuke.com face has one career World Series of Poker cash, which came by virtue of Leigh finishing 18th in a $1,000 rebuy No Limit Hold’em event in 2006. On the World Poker Tour, she has recorded cashes in the 2006 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and, a few months later, also finished in the money in the Bicycle Casino Legends of Poker.
Aside from her adult photo shoots in FHM Online and Playboy, Leigh has also been featured in Card Player, Inside Edge, Poker Player news, Skinnie, and Bluff. Click here to read the exclusive Jennicide interview with Poker News Daily.
