Kasey Mills Wins Two Rings in a Row at WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant

It has got to be exciting to achieve the biggest cash of your poker tournament career, be it $100, $1,000, or $1 million, but getting another top five career cash a couple days later, now that’s quite a week. It happened to PokerNow ambassador and poker commentator Kasey Mills over the weekend, as she won back-to-back rings at the World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw Durant stop.

She first titled in Event #13: $1,000 Monster Stack, which began last Wednesday. While it wasn’t the first live tournament victory of her career, it was the first in what one might consider a “notable” event. For the win, Mills nabbed $66,009, the most she had ever won.

According to TheHendonMob.com poker database, Mills’ previous top cash was $42,968 for a second place finish in the $700 WPT Steps Mystery Bounty 2nd Anniversary event at Texas Card House in Dallas in October 2022.

Then, just two days after claiming her first ring, Mills won her second ring in Event #16: $400 No-Limit Hold’em – The Finale, good for $22,433. That was the fourth-best cash in her career. Her third-largest cash came ten months ago when she finished fifth in the WSOP Circuit Tulsa Main Event, good for $35,539.

All told, Kasey Mills has earned just over $300,000 in live tournaments.

In a Twitter post afterward, Mills not only celebrated her victory, but also the strong presence of women in both the tournament and at WSOP Choctaw Durant.

“Tonight was unbelievable,” Mills wrote. “This was not a ladies event but we had 3 women on this FT. When all was said and done it was the women who were the last three to remain!

“I am amazed by what I saw tonight from all the women playing and supporting each other. Almost all of these women in my rail photo are 💍 winners. Powerful!”

In a video interview with Poker.org after her second win, Mills added that the tournament director and many of the dealers were also women.

“We are rising up, we are powerful, we are strong, we can do hard things.”

Finishing second and third in “The Finale” were Jacqueline Gomez and Tetiana Zaitseva.

Choctaw Durant was the first stop of the year for the WSOP Circuit. The stop at Thunder Valley Casino just outside of Sacramento, California is currently about halfway through its schedule. Coming up next is WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi January 18-29.
