May 3rd – Daily Deal

On today’s Daily Deal, Annette Obrestad finds a new online home, the CEREUS network changes its affiliate policy, PartyPoker launches its popular Million Dollar Hand promo, and Annie Duke teaches poker on TV.

Over the weekend, Norwegian prodigy Annette “Annette_15” Obrestad left Betfair to join Full Tilt Poker’s team of Red Pros. Obrestad joins a talented group of Red Pros that includes female players Cyndy Violette and Beth Shak. Obrestad, who was champion of the first World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, hosted the FTOPS Main Event last night.

The CEREUS Network issued an email on April 19, stating that every player would only be able to have one account that would earn affiliate revenue, either on Absolute Poker or UB.com. Affiliate partners were upset with this decision and managed to persuade CEREUS to back down. Recently, CEREUS officials changed their stance and issued an e-mail that read, “A single player [may] have one account on Absolute Poker and one account on UB, regardless of the affiliate association of the player accounts at either site.”

Next, the Million Dollar Hand is back at Party Poker, and Annie Duke teaches George Stephanopoulos when to hold’em and when to fold’em…

The Million Dollar Hand promotion will run on PartyPoker between May fourth and May twenty-third. Players will receive a random playing card for every fifteen PartyPoints they earn. Once they’ve collected five cards, they’ll receive a prize of between three dollars for one pair all the way up to one million dollars for a royal flush. A maximum of two hands per day will be revealed.

This Wednesday morning Poker News Daily Guest Columnist Annie Duke will mentor former political advisor George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Stephanopoulos, who now co-hosts GMA, will then test his poker skills in a made-for-tv home game featuring Duke, WSOP finalist Steven Beglighter and Hold’em icon Phil Hellmuth at Harrah’s in Atlantic City.
