Party Poker had many satellite events that awarded seats to the 2009 Asian Poker Tour main event. Day 1A started with 133 players from all over the world and eleven of those earned their seat through a Party Poker satellite event.
Some of the first Party Poker players to bust out of the main event were “Georgetta” from Italy and “Ihar” from Belarus. After they were taken out of the tournament Party Poker has only 8 players remaining at the tables.
Party Poker player and qualifier Ian Frasier holds a nice stack of chips and is doing quite well in the tournament. He has a lot of experience in poker, one of his biggest wins include taking 1st place at the Pacific Poker Open for $500K and finishing in the money at the Party Poker European Open in which he took home $125K. He has also reached many final tables in online tournaments. He played at the final table in the 2008 Late Night Poker tournament. His live tournament winnings are over $1.1 million dollars.
There are 7 Party Poker players remaining in Day 1A, who will most likely return for a second day of action.
In other news Party Poker is currently awarding seats to the World Open V which will be hosted in London. It’s an exclusive event that will only have forty eight players, satellites are running around the clock at Party Poker so all players take a chance of being part of this elite event.
