The Aussie Millions is one of the largest poker tournaments in the world and as such, it attracts players from all corners of the globe. Since traveling to Australia could get pretty expensive depending on the part of the world the player is at, each package that was awarded by Party Poker includes $500 to help with traveling expenses.
One of the super satellites was held exclusively for players from Australia and New Zealand and the other was for players from all over the world. There were a total of twenty seven packages at stake and each package included the entry fee to the main event plus the extra money for traveling expenses.
The first super satellite was the one for the Aussies and New Zealanders, a total of 149 players registered. There were a total of 5 guaranteed packages but due to the great influx of players the amount was increased to seven. But there were also cash prizes at stake and the top ten places make some extra cash.
The second super satellite started seven hours after the first one and there were a total of 453 players that wanted to fight for one of the twenty packages that where at stake. The Aussie Millions will start on January 24th and there will be an estimated prize pool of $2.3 million.
