Players on Party Poker got a sneak peak at the site’s new lobby look on Monday. In an image posted on the online poker room’s official blog, the new lobby was unveiled. Gone will be the days of the lobby that many players grew up with on the site. The new look features a quick seat feature, table preview, and easy to locate account information. It is expected to debut on Tuesday.
The new lobby has a green border with tabs running across the top that say “Quick Seat,” “Cash Games,” “Sit & Go’s,” “Tournaments,” “Blackjack,” and “Play Money.” A player’s cash balance, money in play, and available bonus are clearly given on the top of the site, which is a brand new feature introduced in the new lobby. Quick links to My Account, Cashier, Support, and Preferences are also given on the left-hand side. In total, it seems as if the critical pieces of information are given on the lobby’s main screen.
The Quick Seat feature allows users to store their preferences so that they can be seated at a table suited for them in a matter of seconds every time they log onto the software. This feature is available across many other online poker rooms and has proven to be very successful in seating customers easily throughout the hundreds of tables that are running. A table preview feature will allow you to “look at any table in real time within the lobby – meaning you can test the waters before diving in,” according to Party Poker’s official blog.
The new Party Poker lobby will be completely resizable and come in two viewing styles: “List” and “Browse.” Time zone support will also be available. One very interesting new feature that the online poker room is introducing is called “Hot Hand Support.” It’s especially helpful for those players who multi-table and must constantly flip between screens. Here’s Party Poker’s explanation of Hot Hand Support: It’s a “great tool for those who like to multi-table, giving you an alert if something important (like being dealt aces) has happened on one of your tables. You’ll be able to customize this feature to work just the way you want it to.” It’s one of the first tools of its kind and may increase the number of players competing on more than one table at a time.
Finally, a feature will be built in to allow a customer to open up a table that’s of the same stakes as the one he or she currently playing on. So, if a person is playing at a $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold’em table, he or she can quickly open up another $0.50/$1 No Limit table by clicking the “Open New Table” button. Other keyboard shortcuts will also be available.
According to Party Poker’s website, the entire new look of the popular online poker site should kick off on Tuesday. However, players that prefer the old look will have the option to retain it, at least for the foreseeable future.
The site is offering a sign-up bonus of 100% up to $500. Its marquee tournament is the weekly $300,000 Guaranteed, which takes place every Sunday at 12:45 ET. It has a $215 buy-in and an extensive satellite system. This weekend, the tournament attracted 1,425 entrants, meaning a $15,000 overlay existed. At the end of the day, keanef emerged victorious from the field, pocketing $60,000. In second place was sca11ywag, who took home $33,000. Other final table participants included viish (third for $20,700), cpeagee (fourth for $16,350), Leao63 (fifth for $13,800), DINAMO_K73 (sixth for $10,350), lolk12 (seventh for $7,950), tatuetata3 (eighth for $5,250), and DrGeniusus (ninth for $4,050).
