The heats to decide who will be at the final table of the Party Poker World Open VI are underway. Three have been completed with another three to come. This year’s tournament has 48 entrants investing $10,000 for their shot at the prize pool of $480,000, with a reserved $200,000 for first place. Each winner of their heat will go on to the final tournament, where the champion will be crowned.
Defending Champion Phil Laak took down the event last year for $250,000 said “Last year was a wild roller coaster ride. This year I am looking forward to coming back to defend my title – it is ideal that it comes straight off the back off the WPT London Poker Classic – hopefully I can win both!”
The results of the first three heats are:
Heat 1:
Sam Trickett, a Titan Poker sponsored pro, has outlasted Marty Smyth, James Akenhead, Ian Channing, Lee Atherton and Ian Frazer to secure the first spot at the final table. Sam’s winning hand was Qd9d against Marty’s Ac3c on a board of 4h 2d Qh 6s 6h.
Heat 2:
