This month, PartyPoker is bringing back its popular Gladiator promotion. All you have to do to claim your slice of the pie is record 10 PartyPoints on five days during the month. When you do, you’ll be entered into a $5,000 freeroll. The grand prize during November’s Gladiator promotion is a seat in the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) L.A. Poker Classic in February.
Points don’t have to be earned on consecutive days and the more you earn, the richer the prize you’ll take home. In addition to the $5,000 freeroll, $10,000 and $25,000 freebies are available. Players can qualify for the $10,000 freeroll by accruing 20 PartyPoints on five days during the month or 10 PartyPoints on 10 days. Players can qualify for the $25,000 free tournament by racking up 10 PartyPoints on 15 days, 20 PartyPoints on 10 days, or 50 PartyPoints on five days.
In addition to the three aforementioned freerolls, a wealth of cash will be up for grabs. The minimum payout is $15, while the maximum is $5,000. Text found on PartyPoker’s website stresses the allure of challenging the Gladiator this month: “You don’t even have to earn points on consecutive days to [have] a shot at our colossal prizes; we’ll just count up the number of days where you made the targets during the promotion.”
The Gladiator kicked off on Monday and will run until 23:59 ET on November 30th. As an important caveat, players must opt into the promotion in order to qualify for it. Everyone who cashes will also earn a $25,000 freeroll seat, where a potentially larger payday awaits. In addition, it’s important to note that the grand prize does not include travel to or accommodations in Los Angeles for the WPT event. However, the tournament awarded a $1.8 million first place prize earlier this year.
All three Gladiator freerolls will play out on December 4th at 14:00 ET and the field of each is capped at 10,000.
To say players have been flocking to PartyPoker to compete for freerolls and cash prizes during the Gladiator would be a significant understatement. According to PokerScout.com, which keeps tabs on online poker room traffic, PartyPoker recorded a 24-hour peak of 8,585 real money ring game players on November 1st. On October 31st, the day before the promotion began, the maximum cash game player total was 6,338, meaning that overnight traffic rose 35%.
In comparison to the previous Monday (October 25th), PartyPoker’s traffic was up a little over 4% as players stormed the virtual felt for the Gladiator. PartyPoker is the largest site in the world that does not accept action from the United States and weighs in at a seven-day running average of 4,050 real money ring game players. It is comfortably ahead of the iPoker Network’s average of 3,600 and the Ongame Network’s average of 2,550.
This Sunday, the PartyPoker Monthly Million returns. The $640 buy-in tournament, which is held on the first Sunday of every month, sports a $1 million guaranteed prize pool and frequently sees an overlay. Qualifiers are running all week on PartyPoker and start at $1. In addition, freeroll and PartyPoints satellites are also available.
